Acquired: Trade with Leafs for Mikhail Grabovski. Was selected in the 5th round, 128th overall in 2008.
Strengths
Is said to have a solid frame while just turning 18 so he likely will add some addition mass to an already large frame. Is said to have good offensive skills while also playing a good physical game. Led his team in penalty minutes with 145. Was selected to the USHL All Stars in his rookie year, was an All State player while in the USHS. Was not expected to go to Michigan in the fall of '09, Head Coach and ex-Hab Red Berenson suggested at the start of the year that "he is a kid that probably will spend two years in the USHL". But after a strong first year in the USHL, Michigan reevaluated the situation and opted to bring him to the team for the start of the 2008-2009 season. Saw a good bit of time on the PP in the USHL, led his team in scoring for defensemen with 27 points.
Weaknesses
Has not played much hockey at a high level, spent one year in the USHL and prior to that played in the Michigan USHS system.
